Appearance
Clear, pale straw with green hues and a silvery sheen.
Nose
Rich lifted gooseberries and citrus (tangerines), with a mineral freshness. Opens to reveal tropical and stone fruits (pineapple, peaches).
Palate
Light to medium body. Pleasantly acidic citrus flavours of tangerines and pink grapefruit. Pineapple and peaches develop through the mid-palate and recede into a short but clean citric finish.
Overall
A pleasant and well-balanced Sauvignon Blanc with good acidity. Full fruit flavours but sensibly restrained alcohol (12.5%) confirms the fruit was harvested at just the right point for a wine of this style. The result is a very good wine at a very fair price. The pleasant acidity would make this a great food match - try with fleshy seafood, grilled snapper or swordfish perhaps.
