Appearance
Pale, almost clear with shimmering golden hues.
Nose
Rich and floral, with roses, apricots, peaches, and honey.
Palate
Light-medium body, with light acidity. Front palate is dominated by wild honey-comb which allows some peaches and unexpected mild lemon notes to reveal themselves as it develops through to the fairly abrupt finish.
Overall
Richly aromatic - the fruit is sourced from vines in Cafayate in Argentina's north, at an altitude of 1650 metres. The best Torrontes is sourced from similar heights, where the temperature variation between day and night amplifies the floral characters of the grape. However, the palate on this example feels slightly austere against the rich aroma.
