Los Haroldos Syrah Merlot
Bright scarlet red with violet hues.
Raspberries, boysenberries, plums, some floral notes of violets. Hints of vanilla and some yeasty aromas.
Light-medium body. Raspberries and red plums, with some spicy cigar box complexities. Somewhat astringent tannins, fresh and crisp acidity almost bordering on tart, but the overall balance is reasonably pleasant.
It's a non-vintage blend, and certainly young-tasting. That said, it's by no means "rough red" - very drinkable, the Merlot ensures plenty of round fruit in the mid-palate, and it's good value at around 8 pesos.
